The history of the Kruketi estate is connected with the history of the city of Kalimpong. Until the mid-19th century, the area around Kalimpong was ruled by the kings of Sikkim and the representatives of the royal family of Bhutan. Under the rule of the Sikkim kings, the region was called Dalingot. In 1706, the king of Bhutan received this territory and renamed it Kalimpong. Continue reading
