Holidays of Argentina. Tango Festival

One of the landmarks of Argentina is the passionate and energetic tango dance. This is not just one of the elements of the musical culture of Argentina. Tango – religion, pride, favorite occupation of the Argentines. It was the Argentine tango that was included in the list of the intangible cultural heritage of mankind.

It all began with the folk dances of Great Argentina at the end of the 19th century, where immigrants from many countries of the world, including Africa, lived.

The synthesis of “dance to the sound of the drum”, various folk melodies of Europe, the Uruguayan milonga and the Cuban habanera made it possible to create such a miracle – the Argentine tango. The dance has gone a long way from the port squash to big dance scenes and aristocratic salons, from the entertainment genre to the work of art.

Buenos Aires and tango are almost as inseparable as a pair of tango dancers. The festival of this passionate and mysterious dance is organized annually in the Argentine capital in mid-August. Everywhere in Buenos Aires, playgrounds for dancers are being built. Viewers can get acquainted with all the best tango performers from around the world these days, as well as try their hand and perform in amateur contests, beginners can get tango lessons for free and dance day and night, perfecting their skills. And, of course, the most significant event these days is the international competition of Argentine tango performers.

To take part in the festival, if you want to learn how to dance tango, you just need to appear at one of the many venues or look at the schedule of classes on the festival website, as well as register. The same information portal contains the entire database of famous dancers and festival participants. If the novice does not have a pair, but wants to learn, they will pick up a pair, regardless of age. During the festival days, many older couples dance on the streets and venues of Buenos Aires.

Tango reigns in Argentina these days and everyone who wants to join this dance becomes the subjects of this magnificent kingdom! And there is no difference in whether a professional or amateur, young or old, new or famous dancer. In the days of the festival – everyone is equal! Everyone loves each other, Buenos Aires and Argentine tango!
